Chinese tech giant has launched its affordable Redmi Note 3 smartphone in India. Xiaomi originally launched a MediaTek-powered Redmi Note 3 in China last year. According to a report by The Times of India, the Chinese electronics company will debut the device onto the Indian market on March 3 (Thursday) at an open event at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. Xiaomi will have another competitor from its home country– Lenovo – which is all set to unveil its all-new Vibe K5 Plus in India this month, March 15 to be precise.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Launched in India

Features: The device is equipped with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor with four cores clocked at 1.2GHz and two cores clocked at 1.8GHz.  In Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, which means you can either use it as a dual-SIM phone (micro-SIM and nano-SIM) or a single macro-SIM along with a microSD card. Talking about the camera specifications Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 offers a 16-megapixel camera, whereas the MediaTek version had a 13-megapixel camera.

Specifications: In term of RAM and storage Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes in two variants. One variant will have 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal storage. On the other side another variant comes with 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of inbuilt storage. In term of display Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 650 chipset with 1080 x 1920 pixels and 178 degree viewing angle.  The smart-phone offers a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The 16GB variant is packed with 4,000mAh battery and another 32GB variant comes with a 4,050mAh battery. On connectivity front it features options like 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7.xiaomi_redmi_note_3_pro

Price: The price of the device is not revealed yet but if it’s based on the China variant, the 16GB variant in China is priced at 999 Yuan (Rs 10,000 approximately), while the 32GB variant is priced at 1,199 Yuan (Rs 12,300 approximately).

Highlights: Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is the first smartphone in the company’s portfolio to features a fingerprint scanner. Company claims that it is fast enough to unlock the device in 0.3 seconds. The smartphone boasts a full-metal body with a curved design.
